The Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) is the comprehensive data protection legislation enacted in South Africa. The updated POPI Act came into effect on 1 July 2021. The act requires that we obtain your consent to communicate with you in future. 

At Pivitte (PTY) LTD, we are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of our clients personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in accordance with POPIA.

We collect personal information directly from our clients or their legal guardians for the purpose of providing dance instruction and counselling services. Personal information may include but is not limited to:

Personal information is used solely for the purpose of providing dance instruction and counselling services and related administrative purposes. This may include:

• Establishing client location for the purpose on online services
• Establishing client preferences in order to create a tailored experience
• Assessing client needs and developing treatment plans
• Communicating with clients regarding appointments and session reminders
• Billing and processing payments
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records

Disclosure of Personal Information:

We may disclose personal information to third parties only with the client's explicit consent or as required by law. Third parties may include:

• Other healthcare providers involved in the client's care (with consent)
• Insurance companies for billing and claims processing purposes (with consent)
• Legal authorities when required by law

Data Security:

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. This includes:

Retention of Personal Information:

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and as required by law. Once personal information is no longer needed, it is securely disposed of or anonymized.

Client Rights:

Clients have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of their personal information. Requests should be made in writing to Charmaine Kelly. We will respond to such requests in accordance with POPIA requirements.

We reserve the right to update or amend this Privacy Policy as necessary to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on our website and social media pages.
